These days I go by many names - Michelle, Mom, Hon, Aunt Michelle, Ma'am, Ms Michelle. I am blessed with five wonderful children, although not always easy, this is my life. I have also been married to my best friend for 16 years. After having kids, my husband and I decided it would be best if I stayed home to raise our children. After having been an Executive Assistant, Travel Planner and Lastly a Human Resource Manager for Daimler Chrysler in which I was in charge of over 600 employees. This was very humbling to go from being "something" to "a stay at home mom". But it has turned out to be the best decision we ever made. I got to watch all my kids grow, learn their first words, crawl, walk. I wanted to capture every moment I could. These moments touched my heart, their smiles, antics, laughter and mostly that "innocence".
This started as a hobby, although my family saw a gift in me that I didn't see. I took photos for friends, of their families, children, baby bumps, babies just to do. And everyone pushed that I should be charging for this, you are just as good as anyone out there. So from 2000 until 2011 this stayed my favorite hobby in the world. I loved doing it and watching the joy on people's faces when I showed them their pictures. So finally with my parents and husband's push, I went back to school to be a Professional Photographer. It took me two years, but has totally been worth it. So thank you to my family and friends for your support and pushing me to be the best I can be. I Love you!
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan until January of 2010 when we transferred down here to "paradise", Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. My husband's job, project manager/environmental geologist, moved us down here due to the bad economy in Michigan back in 2009. So as hard as it was leaving all our family and friends, we have learned to lean more on each other and just know this is where God wanted us to be.
My Children, as you can see above, a daughter in SeaCoast, a son in SeaSide, and two sons and a daughter in Butler Elementary. My youngest just started kindergarten this past fall and I tell you, it is very difficult being alone for the first time in 15 years. But I get to reflect on where I go next, which has given me more time push myself and get out there.
As of right now I do just about anything. I have done special events, sporting events, weddings, engagements, senior portraits, children, families, babies, head shots and even real estate.
My favorite type of photography is trying to capture the "moment", non posed just the innocence and fun of that moment. It is so much fun!
I am also in works to do a lot of non-profit work in the future to help people in need. Which is the path God is steering me down. Since helping others gives me the most joy in the world.
In Michigan, Photographers were very reasonable and affordable. When moving down here I was shocked at what people pay just for a sitting fee. Especially with just a hobbyist.
My goal is to keep my prices affordable so everyone can afford pictures, because really who doesn't want to look back on old pictures? I am a Certified Professional through NYIP and also a proud member of the NAPW. I do not feel anyone should have to pay that high of a price just because we are on the ocean and sand. So please take a look at my prices and compare. I think you'll find that I am one of the cheapest around, not because I don't know what I'm doing, because I love doing what I do and everyone should get to enjoy those moments as well. Thanks! Michelle
